WHY IT MATTERS FOR YOUR HEALTH
Some flea species can carry certain pathogens under specific conditions when infected; risk depends on the species, animal host and region. Not every flea bite means disease. Bites can also cause itching and skin reactions. Problems affecting the animal should be assessed with a veterinarian, while the home environment requires a separate control plan.
A flea is a small, wingless insect that can jump. It can be brought into the home by pets or other animal sources. Bite marks alone do not confirm its presence; the animal’s condition and the areas it occupies should be assessed together.
Eggs and developing fleas may be present in the animal’s surroundings. Include carpets, gaps in flooring and textiles where the animal rests in your environmental control plan. Regular vacuuming and cleaning according to care instructions address more than just visible adult fleas.
Why is one application not always enough?
Flea eggs, larvae, pupae and adults may not be visible in the same place or at the same time. New adults can emerge under suitable conditions, so monitoring matters. Plan any repeat application according to the product label.
Is treatment on the animal separate?
Yes. For a problem on an animal, consult a veterinarian and use an authorised product suitable for that animal. Netpa’s surface products shown here must not be applied to animals. Environmental application does not replace veterinary care.
